About Dancesport Scotland 

Dancers

Dancesport Scotland is the Governing Body for Ballroom and Latin American dancing in Scotland.

Ballroom comprises of Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, Quickstep and Viennese Waltz. Latin dances are Samba, Cha Cha, Rumba, Paso Doble and Jive.

Dancesport Scotland was established in 1945 the basic aim being to support and encourage Amateur dancing in Scotland both from a competitive and social angle.

The Association is a member of the British Dance Council and the International Dance Sport Federation and organises competitions throughout the year. The competitions are for all ages and grades and the events are chart rated and used as a guide to select couples for overseas representation in World and European Championships such as

* The World and European Latin
* The World and European Modern
* The World and European 10 Dance
* The World and European Youth
* The World Senior

During the year we also run practice nights and squad training/coaching sessions for all grades.

Dancesport is open to all age groups from under 12 to over 50. We are committed to young persons welfare and at present are finalising our Child Protection Policy Document.
