The Scottish Closed Championships December 2008

The 2008 Scottish Closed Senior Modern Championship was won by Ewan and Julia Wallace with James and Laura Carroll taking a very close second place.

Third were Stephen and Angela Hardy, fourth place went to Alex and Audrey Hamilton with Ken and Doreen Lee and Tom and Kay Morton being placed fifth and sixth respectively.  The Scottish Closed Amateur Modern went to Tibor Poc and Hilary Mouat and the Scottish Closed Amateur Latin was won by a delighted Robin and Marianne Suddell and runners up Tibor Poc and Hilary Mouat.

This year's demonstrators were Italy's Paolo Bosco and Silvia Pitton, who have won just about every amateur title possible.  To say their demonstration was superb would be an understatement.  At times one could hear a pin drop such was the concentration of the audience appreciating the sheer beauty of their dancing. The silence was broken by earth shattering applause and followed, at the end of their 'dem', by a standing ovation

Dancesport Scotland's Chair – Dorothy Louttit compered the evening. Robin Flynn provided the music Judges Steward was Eddie Donaldson.  Competitor's steward was Sandra Mackie.The scrutineering was in the capable hands of May Donaldson. Judges were Aileen Brown, Jackie Conway, Alan Merrall, Alan Millar and Alan Ford (Chairman).
